The Technical Optimism and Engineering Mind in Liu Cixin’s Science Fiction

Liu Cixin’s science fiction works start from the question about the development of state, human and planet. The situation and solution plans narrated in the works demonstrate technical optimism and engineering mind. The great impact of Liu Cixin’s works caused is an evidence that this tendency of technical optimism has been widely accepted. This paper analyzes a couple of development solution plans in The Three Body Problem and other works against the backdrop of the progress of contemporary Chinese industrial mind. It can be concluded that industrial mind serves as an important part of current spiritual domain in China, in which Liu’s works are rooted.
