Epochal Texts and the Expression of Women’s Subjective Consciousness: A Brief Discussion on the Female Images in Novels by Ai Wei

Among contemporary writers, Ai Wei places an emphasis upon the relationship between women’s subjective consciousness and gender identity, epochal emotion and experience, and social morality and ethics. This is a manifestation of his keen insight into the holistic experience of women’s subjective consciousness. Ai Wei’s in-depth analysis and description of women’s evolving subjective consciousness has tremendously broadened modern women’s fullness of life experience, the complexity of emotional cognition, and the multifaceted dimensions of human nature.
