Militarisation refers to “military process”, which is accomplished through the interwining economic, cultural and environmental processes. Historically, the key purpose to examine militarisation is demilitarization. I will discuss the problem of militarisation on a global scale in 20th century with focus on the environmental history of militarisation in Vietnam. After 1975, Vietnamese response to militarisation is relatively complex, which had been the important backdrop against which their economy got recovered during the time.
