On the Confidence in the Rule of Law in Chinese Modernization
(Abstract)
Zheng Wenyang and Fu Zitang
Confidence in the rule of law within Chinese modernization is deeply rooted in the theoretical foundation that combines the basic principles of Marxism with China’s specific realities and its rich traditional culture. Confidence in the rule of law is not a static theoretical concept; it continues to grow and evolve in the practice of “law bringing peace to the world and virtue nourishing people’s hearts.”Presenting unique practical logic, it is generated amidst the dynamic balance between law and power, manifested in the universal application of law and case handling, and deepened by the unity of fairness and efficiency within the rule of law. Enhancing confidence in the rule of law involves vertically tapping into China’s rich legal and cultural heritage, while also horizontally absorbing achievements from global “rule of law” civilizations. In this way, the rule of law is not merely an institutional system, but a cultural and spiritual legacy.
