The Inheritance, Innovation and Practical Guidance of Literary and Art Theory and Criticism in the New Era

The important function of literary and art theory is to construct literary and art concepts, and to support and guide the development of literary and art practice. The innovative development of literary and art theory in the new era should adhere to the guidance of Marxist literary and art theory, inherit the ancient literary theory heritage and critically learn from modern Western literary theory, and study real problems from the perspective of contemporary literary and art practice. The characteristics and functions of literary and art criticism are to analyze and evaluate literary and art creation practices and works, and play a role in value guidance. The innovative development of literary and art criticism in the new era should adhere to the proper critical views and values, and guide literary and art practice to upholding fundamental principles and breaking new ground.
