Zhu Guangqian’s Aesthetic Research in Sichuan during the War of Resistance against Japan

During the War of Resistance against Japan,in realizing the reality that his country was suffering from aggression and the nation was in need of salvation，and in pursuit of progressive thought and an ideal society, Zhu Guangqian turned his attention to the study of Chinese traditional aesthetics from the perspective of Western aesthetics. He combined his research with teaching management of higher education to train qualified personnel for the war. His aesthetic research in this period was strongly practical, showing a unity of knowledge and practice. As an aesthetician trained in modern European aesthetics, Zhu displayed righteousness at a time when the existence of the Chinese nation imperiled, and his undertakings showed the merit of scholar.
