(Abstract)

Rao Xiang

Instead of common structure of novels, Qiao Ye in Baoshui Village adopts plain and natural writing to depict the four seasons and daily life in a rural village of northern Henan Province. The rich and solid details show the quietly occurring changes in the mountain village’s traditional customs. The novel records the rural revitalization across Chinese land by portraying typical figures such as rural construction experts, primary-level cadres, and ordinary villagers and using plain and vivid language which is rich in local features and life vitality.
