Stylistics Expresses Authors’ Thought

The rise of vanguard novels in the 1980s triggered a comprehensive reform in narrative and stylistics of fiction. But overemphasizing stylistic exploration may lead to language games or the worship of rhetoric. Sometimes the poverty of literature is not due to the lack of stylistic exploration, but because of the superstition and abuse of stylistics. Stylistics expresses authors’ thoughts. Stylistic reforms aim to make fiction rich, complex and full of possibilities. Furthermore, stylistic reforms are constantly identifying what constitutes fiction in addition to expanding the artistic boundaries of fiction.
