The Cognitive Construction of Chinese Science Fiction Imagination

Since the May Fourth period, Chinese science fiction has been reflecting on the cultural traditions of the pre-Enlightenment era by affirming the scientific creativity of Chinese people, while assuming the popularization function of constructing scientific cognition. At the level of cultural construction, the international perspective of Chinese science fiction participates and constructs a new human culture equally with an empathy of the “non-other” and the modern mathematical paradigm. Based on the pluralistic vision, it becomes possible for science fiction imagination to reconstruct Chinese ideological and cultural archetypes in order to provide a cognitive “ascension” path to the archetypes of civilization.
