Futurism of science fiction is a subgenre of science fiction that emerged when the genre was created. It hopes to lead humanity to face the future wisely through innovation. Chinese futurism of science fiction is a rich mine, which has experienced several high points: the late Qing dynasty, the Seventeen Years period, the New Period, and the 21st century. Broadly, these works fall into four categories: blueprint, performance, experience, and hybrid. The works of this fiction often show the following characteristics: insight into the development of science and technology and future society, belief in virtues, optimism, collectivism, feelings for the tie between the nation and the family, and the resilience of a nation in the midst of change. Chinese futurism of science fiction highlights its function to deterritorialize mainstream literature. Strengthening the international dissemination of this genre can help enhance cultural competitiveness of China and construct its leadership towards the future.
