Interaction and Common Prosperity of Criticism, Theory and Creation: A Review of the Creation of Novellas and Short Stories in the New Period

The rapid development of novellas and short stories of Chinese literature in the new period is taken as an important phenomena, and literary criticism plays a significant role in their promotion. Literary criticism closely follows literary creation, and strenuously absorbs new ideas and concepts from philosophy, aesthetics, modern literary theory and criticism, with strong practical and theoretical features. Consequently, dynamic literary criticism results in remarkable achievements in literary theory and literary history. Despite with many limitations and problems, literary criticism in the new period is worth in-depth consideration for its academic accumulation, theoretical construction and lessons learned.
