The study of agricultural technological progress has gradually expanded from the agricultural production sector to the entire agri-food system. Methodologically, assessments of agricultural technological progress are more aligned with de facto agricultural production patterns. As of application, huge progression has been made in domains such as technological convergence and agricultural supply chains. Looking ahead, research will focus on constructing an agricultural technological progress accounting framework on the basis of endogenous growth and induced technological innovation theories. In Addition, a modern agri-food chain perspective should be adopted to inquire the relationship between agricultural technological progress and external variables such as resource environments and climate risks.
