(Abstract)
Wang Qingfei
How to revitalize and recreate the distinctive thoughts and emotions of the Chinese people manifested in traditional Chinese literature is of immense importance today. Li Xiuwen’s novel Tiger Tiger marks a valuable attempt in this regard. By drawing on traditional narrative patterns and placing the theme of transformation within a realistic context, the novel confronts the existential realities of ordinary people and fosters an interaction between ancient traditions and new experiences. It offers new perspectives on our understanding of the world and humanity and unveils the potential for traditional intellectual treasure and emotions to be re-activated today.
