Host Shao Yanjun: The annual online literature recommendation list introduced by “Peking University Online Literature Studies Forum” since 2015, has columns of nanpin(male protagonist) and nüpin(female protagonist), targeting men and women reader groups. Ten excellent works of each column are selected and published in Chinese Annual Online Literature (volume for men/ volume for women) by Lijiang Press. The list can be regarded as “academic list” that is professional and civil, aiming at literariness. The works on the list are selected based on the lists from major literature websites and public praise. The list is focusing on the most popular online literary works, and pays special attention to new and vigorous works of new genres and the capability of leading the new trend, as well as experimental works that represent a certain subculture trend or activate some traditional literary resources. A distinctive feature of 2017 list is the diversity of platforms, which ranges from Weibo, Wechat, Lofter, Mars Novel and other platforms apart from literary websites, and demonstrates a “flourishing” online literature and the impact of elite literary tradition.
