Cognitive communication in the age of globalization

Nearly 120 experts from China and abroad discussed cutting-edge developments in cognitive communication research at a recent forum while analyzing how to develop new approaches to communication research to promote the discipline construction of social sciences and humanities as well as cross-disciplinary studies. The forum on international cognitive communication was held from May 27 to 29 in Nankai University, Tianjin. It was co-hosed by the Global Rhetoric Society and Chinese Cognitive Communication Association. Five major topics, including formation of the international discourse field in the context of globalization, factors and subjects influencing the international discourse system, communication system of national discourse, disciplinary construction of cognitive communication and discourse studies in certain fields, were discussed at the forum.
